TEST Exciting collaboration for The Minster School and Little Green Rascals Organic Nurseries

From 20 July 2020, all nursery and pre-school services provided by the Minster School will be provided by York based, Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nurseries Group.

Little Green Rascals are extending the nursery provision (from age 0 to 3 years), they currently run from the White House building located in the Minster Precinct to include a new pre-school provision (from age 4 to 5 years). Whilst pre-school and nursery provision will switch to Little Green Rascals, the Minster School will continue to provide an excellent learning and education environment for children aged 5 to 13 years.

Little Green Rascals will operate the White House site for 50 weeks a year compared to the current 36 weeks at the Minster School, meeting the growing demand for high quality nursery and pre-school provision in York city centre.

Nursery and pre-school children currently at the Minster School for the academic year 2020/21 will be automatically offered a place at Little Green Rascals.  The Minster’s pre-school staff have been offered the opportunity to transfer to Little Green Rascals.

Commenting on the announcement, Mrs Angela Mitchell, Head Teacher of the Minster School said:   “We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Little Green Rascals.

“Having listened to the Minster School’s current and prospective parents there is a clear demand for more pre-school provision in the city centre and for more weeks in the year than most schools can offer.

“Little Green Rascals has an outstanding reputation for delivering excellent care for nursery and pre-school age children. They will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in their early years and learning opportunities and experiences that will prepare them for school life. We look forward to working alongside Little Green Rascals as we both strive to provide the best care, experience and environment for little people to flourish.”

Little Green Rascals Owner Vanessa Warn commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be strengthening the partnership we have with The Minster School. We have successfully provided care for the under 3’s for over 18 months and to now extend this and provide the provision up to reception age, is very exciting.

“This will now mean that we can care for and nurture more children in a beautiful city centre setting, something that is sadly lacking in the heart of York.

“The extension will bring a Reggio Emilia Art Room, a Sensory Room, separate and tranquil sleep areas as well as doubling our outside space.  All our team at 7 Minster Yard are so excited as this means we get to be part of our rascals’ lives for a little bit longer.”
